Writing & Editorial Services for the Fun, Freaky, & Fantastical
cozy.dark.edits supports indie creators and fandom community participants who want to put their best work forward, but don't have a traditional budget or mainstream audience. From portfolio building to passion projects, sometimes you need a helping hand to refine your work and deliver a final product you can be proud of. Cheeky creatives, fanfic authors, indie game designers/devs, self-published writers (from blogs to books), and creators of niche works who do it for the love of the craft and community -- cozy.dark.edits was launched just for you. This is a NSFW-friendly, No Judgement Zone.(Personal boundaries still apply! I am a person, not a bot after all.)

Essays, podcast transcripts, chapbooks, blogs, short stories, contest submissions, and other short(er)-form content in the semi-professional arena.

Visual novels, interactive fiction, worldbuilding docs, tabletop/experimental RPGs, lore and character development, fan gifts & kickstarter/patreon extras.

(Almost) Anything goes! Submissions must include TW/CW tags and a brief description for the project. If it's in my (expansive and genre agnostic) wheelhouse, I'll offer a free sample edit to determine if the project is a good fit. Simple :)

Send a proposal or pitch for something not listed! I'm nosey and hungry for innovative projects that may not fit neatly into one category. Don’t be shy, take a chance on your big idea to get the support you need.

BONUS: I'm an ex-academic with strong humanities research and writing training, but little desire to return to the ivory tower. Of course, you can use apps to handle basic proofreading and spellcheck, but they can't review your work like a person trained in the fine arts of media literacy & communication. If you want to ensure your work is polished, makes sense, and meets your audience where they are, then go ahead and book a free sample edit and/or consultation to see the difference a human makes. You can even bring your scrappiest ideas, and together we'll put in the work to bring your vision to life.No funnels, no gimmicks, no flashy marketing campaigns or hack courses to sell.
I just want to improve the quality of our collective freaky, fun, and fantastical media so we can stay immersed in the good times with significantly less typos and plot drops.Read the F.A.Q. (coming soon!) for more info on my honor code policies and other details about how I work.

Why alt-/indie media vs traditional?
The thing about me is, I'm going to find a way to do what I want in the places I feel most alive and free. Early in my career, I did all the expected and respectable things. It was fine until it wasn't. I achieved what I set out to, but in the end, I realized I could use my talents to support the communities I genuinely enjoy being in. And let's be for real here, some of the most creative work is happening in independent and fan-centered spaces. There's plenty to do wherever you can find people who care about their craft. That's enough for me.
Favorite Genres and Media to Read/Write/Edit

Themes & Topics of Interest
Currently, I'm open to an extensive range of projects from cozy to chaotic. I specialize in working with themes of marginalization; worldbuilding with complex systems and hierarchies; exploring/healing/coping with trauma and grief; navigating a-/gender, a-/sexuality, and identity more broadly; intimacy (platonic, romantic, other); and, of course, smut/erotica/NSFW.
Got a question? Ready to send an inquiry? Fill out the form below with a brief description of your project and the type of support you're looking for. I'll get back to you soon!
